A Deal Toy for Every Industry by Pinnacle

Deal Toys or Financial Tombstones are essentially bespoke or custom-made to the deal that is being celebrated. In terms of designs, we have created memorable deal toys to celebrate successes in almost every industry imaginable. Here are a few examples of deal toys we have made for different industries: 

The APPAREL Industry

We made this beautiful Deal Toy for TA Associates, Matrix Partners and Avendus, for a $140 million round of minority stake sale in the apparel brand company behind ‘W’ and Aurelia. The bust of the red garment made in poly resin makes it striking and memorable, while associating it perfectly with the apparel industry. Don’t miss the tiny hanger. I clearly remember how we struggled with the tiny metal that was just not setting straight, but eventually we made it work. It is the small details that add up to a powerful bigger picture and eventually make for a great tombstone. The deal text is etched on a glass panel here. 

HEALTHCARE

There are several big financial transactions in the healthcare industry. For an equity deal concerning HealthifyMe, we made an award around the elements of ‘Food, Heart and Exercise,’ and most of all, to reflect that all the health advice and guidance is coming to us through one’s mobile phone. We chose the colour red, as it is the colour of the brand. You can see how these elements were integrated in the design. There were various different materials used to make this tombstone and each was finished to perfection. At Pinnacle, all the processes happen in-house, giving us complete control over quality and commitment of delivery. 

REAL ESTATE

Of Course the all time big financial deals inevitably circle back to real estate. Here is an example of a Deal Toy we made for EY, Blackstone and IndiaBulls, where we made a miniature of their real estate properties. They are put together at multiple levels. For this award, there was special finishing required on acrylic, to make the text clearly visible and long-lasting. 

Logistics and Warehousing

Logistics and Warehousing is also a big sector that pulls finance. Here is an example of a deal toy we made, with a miniature moving truck. Again the glass panel incorporates the deal details. Notice the orange boxes on the conveyor belt, capturing the industry. 

HIGHWAYS

With infrastructure booming in India, many deals are around construction. This is a beloved Deal Toy we made for an investment in the highways and toll plazas sector. You can imagine that our client totally loved the end result! We mapped a real-life toll plaza and then created a miniature version, as true to scale as was possible. Addition of the miniature car and truck, gave it colour, purpose and added greatly to the design of this tombstone.  

FOOD & DAIRY INDUSTRY

When Dodla Dairy got an investment of $50 million from The Rise Fund, we made this adorable deal toy that captures the essence of the brand- the good old cow and the rattling old milk container. It took several steps to make this. First was that our in-house sculptur created the elements in clay, which were after some processing, cast in polyresin. Later each piece was hand-painted and details were etched out. The deal itself is written on the glass panel. 

FINANCIAL SECTOR

This was one of our early Deal toys. Over the years we have made many Financial Tombstones for Avendus, but this was perhaps our first. An oldie but a goodie! I clearly remember this Acrylic ATM machine we made back in 2011 to mark an investment by TPG Capital into AGS. It was a big hit! We had to do some deep hunting to find the right material, in the thickness that it could take this type of crafting, while maintaining sophistication of the design. We finally landed on thick acrylic, which was not that easy to come by.

EDUCATION

Again for Avendus, for a deal done in the Education  Sector, we made a miniature laptop to celebrate this deal.

FOOD AND BEVERAGE INDUSTRY

One of our first 3D sculpted deal toys was the Sula Wine bottle in the Food and Beverages Industry. Again, a big hit!

As you can see, we have used all kinds of materials to make deal toys from polyresin, glass and acrylic, to metal, wood and even silver.

The finishing of each deal toy is closely assessed before we ship it to our customers. Because we need these babies to stick around for decades, as a reminder of a great achievement.
